Squeeze - To make a play that forces the opponent to discard a card which might otherwise become a winner; in preparation for the squeeze, the declarer typically must "rectify the count" and hold threat (menace) cards.  The elements of a squeeze play include the following common acronyms created by Bridge Writers:
 

Clyde Love - BLUE

B

Busy - The Left Hand Opponent holding "busy cards" in more than one suit

L

Loser - The squeezing player holding one or more loser

U

Upper - The hand opposite the squeezing player, holding at least one threat card "over" the Left Hand Opponent's "busy cards" in the upper hand

E

Entry - Transportation to the hand of the established threat (usually the hand with the threat cards)

George Coffin - EFG (to Enter freedom, Force the Guards)

Entry - Transportation to the hand of the established threat (usually the hand with the threat cards)

F

Forcing - The player holding the squeezing card

G

Guards - The Left Hand Opponent holding "busy cards" in more than one suit

John Brown - STEM

S

Share-out/Substance - Combined assets of the player attempting the squeeze, including the partner's hand

T

Timing - Rectification of the count, eliminating alternatives by opponent

E

Entry - Transportation to the hand of the established threat (usually the hand with the threat cards)

M

Menace - The threatening card or cards held by the player executing the squeeze.
